Your tour begins by departing the Phoenix and Scottsdale area, climbing from the lower elevations of the Sonoran Desert to the colorful red rocks of Sedona along I-17 courtesy of Detour Grand Canyon Tours. The tour travels through the entire scenic area of uptown Sedona and the full length of Oak Creek Canyon. You will have a chance to photograph the famous red rock formations, stretch your legs and often pick up lunch from a Sedona restaurant to take as a picnic to the Grand Canyon.

The tour's Grand Canyon experience offers the best views from your helicopter and the canyon rim. Once you arrive at the South Rim of the canyon it's time to board a luxurious state-of-the-art ECO-Star helicopter for a 45-minute flight over the Grand Canyon. Your aerial adventure begins with a view of the North Rim as you fly towards the eastern end of the canyon following the Colorado River. The Painted Desert looms just off in the distance. Experience amazing bird's-eye views as you head south through the Dragon Corridor, which is the widest and deepest part of the Grand Canyon. Following your helicopter flight, you will reunite with your Detours guide and explore the famous 30-mile section of road that winds east along the rim of the canyon, showcasing some of the best rim views and history along the way.

As the tour departs from the Grand Canyon for Phoenix, enjoy views of the Navajo Nation and Painted Desert, with a stop at an authentic Navajo trading post.

At the Grand Canyon it can become windy and the weather can change quickly. So it is important that you dress properly and are prepared for whatever the weather conditions.
In Las Vegas, guests will be assigned a pickup time and location at the time of booking. For a list of hotel pick-up locations within a 5 mile radius of the Las Vegas Strip. Guests will be transferred via Maverick Helicopters transportation.

  • Due to comfort and weight / balance of the aircraft, passengers weighing over 300 lbs (136 kg or 21 stone) will be required to purchase an additional seat; this is payable directly to the tour operator on the day of the tour
  • The total weight of the helicopter cannot exceed 1,140 lbs (518 kg)
